The Hayward SP0722 is a two way ball valve with 1-1/2 in FPT threaded connections. It is the straightforward isolation valve for pool and spa plumbing: a quarter turn of the handle takes it from full flow to fully closed.
The threaded connection is the point of difference. Where a slip valve is glued permanently into the run, this one threads onto pipe or male adapters, which makes it the choice where a joint may need to come apart again.
Its construction is built for what a pool line puts through a valve: constant wet duty, sanitizer, and the pressure a circulation pump produces.
Where to put one
