The Hayward PSCV2S2 is a CPVC check valve sized 2 in by 2.5 in, in black. It carries a pressure rating of 50 psi and is built from corrosion resistant materials, which is what keeps it serviceable in a line that runs treated pool water day after day.
The clear top is the point
Most check valves are opaque, so the only way to know whether the flapper is still sealing is to cut the valve out and look. This one has a clear removable top. You can watch it operate with the pump running, and when the internals do eventually wear you open it in place instead of taking a saw to the plumbing.
Before you order
The two sizes are not interchangeable, so measure both sides of the run where the valve is going. And note the direction of flow when you glue it in: a check valve fitted backwards stops water rather than allowing it, and that is a mistake that is expensive to undo once the solvent has set.
