The Polaris 9-100-1020 is the complete sweep hose in black for the Polaris 360 BlackMax pool cleaner. It is the genuine Polaris part.
What the sweep hose does
The 360 drives its pattern on the floor, but a lot of the dirt in a pool clings to the walls, the steps and the corners. The sweep hose is the tail that whips behind the cleaner and knocks that debris loose into open water, where the cleaner can pick it up. Without a working tail the cleaner only handles what has already settled in the open.
When to change it
Sweep hoses are consumables. Sun, chlorine and constant flexing stiffen the material until the whip goes out of it, and the tip is usually the first part to split or wear away. If the tail trails limply behind the cleaner instead of moving side to side, or it no longer reaches the wall, this complete hose replaces it.
