Product details

The G&P Tools Q-CS9 is a molded rubber cord stopper for a 1 inch pool light niche, with a second hole for the ground wire. It is the retro fit version, made to go into a niche that is already installed.

What it is for

Where the light cord enters the niche, there has to be something gripping the cable tightly enough that water cannot follow it through. That is the stopper. Rubber that has hardened or split stops doing that job, and the niche starts passing water behind the light.

Sizes to check

The body tapers from 1-1/8 inches at the large end to 7/8 inch at the small end and is 1-3/16 inches long. The cord hole is 3/8 inch and the ground wire hole is 3/16 inch. Measure the cable and the niche opening before ordering, because the seal only works when both are right.

What does a cord stopper actually do?
It is molded rubber that fits tightly around the light power cord where it enters the niche, so water cannot pass through the niche along the cable.
What is the ground lug hole for?
