Product details
The Pentair 590118Z is the replacement o-ring for the ColorVision LED light bubbler. It is the genuine Pentair seal for that assembly.
What it does
A bubbler sits in the deck or on a sun shelf with water running over and through it, and the LED assembly inside has to stay dry. This o-ring is the seal that makes that possible. When it hardens, tears or takes a permanent set, water finds its way into the housing and the light does not survive long after that.
When to change it
Fit a new o-ring any time the bubbler is opened, even if the old seal looks serviceable. A seal that has already been compressed once no longer springs back to fill the groove, and reusing it is the most common reason a resealed light leaks again a few months later.

What does this o-ring seal?
It seals the Pentair ColorVision LED light bubbler, keeping pool water out of the lamp assembly.
Should I replace it whenever I service the bubbler?
Yes. O-rings take a compression set once fitted, and reusing a seal that has already been squeezed is how leaks start.
Can I use a generic o-ring instead?
It is not worth the risk. An o-ring that is close but not correct either fails to seat in the groove or seals for one season and then lets water past.
