The Pentair 79108500Z is the 4 inch rubber lens gasket for SpaBrite and AquaLight pool and spa lights. It is the genuine Pentair part.
What it seals
The gasket sits between the lens and the light housing. When the lens ring is tightened down, the rubber compresses and closes the joint, and that seal is the only thing keeping pool water out of the fixture.
Replace it every time you open the light
Rubber that has been clamped in place for a few seasons takes a permanent set and no longer springs back. It looks fine and it is not. Refitting an old gasket after a relamp is the single most common way a light ends up full of water, so put a new one in whenever the lens comes off.
