Product details
The Pentair 79108600 is the white silicone lens gasket for the 4 inch AquaLight, used on both the 100W and the 250W versions. It is the genuine Pentair part.
The part that keeps the light dry
Everything else in a pool light can be perfect and the fixture will still fail if the lens gasket does not seal. This gasket sits between the lens and the housing and is the only thing standing between pool water and the lamp and wiring inside.
Replace it whenever the light is opened
A gasket that has spent several seasons compressed and heat cycled has taken a set and will not seal the same way again. Fitting a new one every time the fixture comes apart is standard practice, and it costs a fraction of what a flooded light does. Silicone is used here for that reason, since it keeps its flexibility through the heat and the water far longer than rubber.

Which lights does this fit?
The 4 inch AquaLight in both the 100W and 250W versions.
Should I replace the gasket when I change the bulb?
Yes. It is the standard practice. The gasket has been compressed and heat cycled for years, and reusing it is how water gets into a fixture that was working fine.
Why silicone instead of rubber?
Silicone holds its flexibility through repeated heat cycles and long submersion, where rubber hardens and takes a permanent set.
Is this the lens itself?
No. This is the gasket that seals between the lens and the housing. The lens is a separate part.
