The Pentair 79108600 is the white silicone lens gasket for the 4 inch AquaLight, used on both the 100W and the 250W versions. It is the genuine Pentair part.
The part that keeps the light dry
Everything else in a pool light can be perfect and the fixture will still fail if the lens gasket does not seal. This gasket sits between the lens and the housing and is the only thing standing between pool water and the lamp and wiring inside.
Replace it whenever the light is opened
A gasket that has spent several seasons compressed and heat cycled has taken a set and will not seal the same way again. Fitting a new one every time the fixture comes apart is standard practice, and it costs a fraction of what a flooded light does.
