Product details

The CMP 25549-600-000 is a repair wedge for in-ground pool lights. It takes up the slack when a fixture no longer pulls tight into its niche, which is a common problem on older niches and after a light has been in and out a few times.

Normal installation

Fit the wedge with the rounded face against the light. Wrap the cord around the light and set it into the niche, hook the bottom of the light into the niche, then tighten the screw until the light is held tight.

When clearance is tight

If there is not enough room in the niche for the normal installation, the wedge may be installed on its side instead. That covers most of the awkward niches where the standard fit will not go in.

Before you start

Turn off the breaker feeding the light circuit before pulling a fixture out of its niche. Nothing about this repair requires the power to be on.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

How does it install?
Put the rounded face against the light, wrap the cord around the light and set it into the niche, hook the bottom of the light into the niche, then tighten the screw until the light is tight.
What if it will not fit that way?
Where there is not enough room for the normal installation, the wedge may be installed on its side.
What problem does it solve?
A light that will not pull up tight in its niche, because the niche or the original mounting has worn. The wedge takes up that slack so the fixture is held firmly.
Do I need to shut off power?
Yes. Turn off the breaker feeding the light circuit before you take a fixture out of the niche. That is basic practice on any pool light job.
