Product details

LPL-M-G-P is the J&J Electronics silicone lens gasket for ColorSplash spa lights, 4 inches in diameter.

What it seals

A spa light is a sealed fixture and the gasket is the seal. It sits at the joint between the lens and the housing, and it is the only thing standing between hot spa water and the electronics inside. Silicone is used here because it stays flexible through heat cycling instead of hardening the way an aged rubber seal does.

When to fit one

Replace the gasket any time the light is opened, not only when it has obviously failed. An old gasket that has flattened into the shape of the housing will often seem fine on reassembly and then weep quietly for a season. At this price it is not worth reusing.
