The Pentair 614516 is the lens gasket for the Hatteras and Pac Fab Hatteras pool light. It is the genuine Pentair replacement.
What it does
The gasket sits between the lens and the light housing. When the lens is clamped down it squeezes the gasket flat, and that squeeze is the only thing keeping pool water out of the fixture. Rubber that has spent years compressed and warm goes hard and takes a set, so it stops springing back and the seal starts to pass water.
When to fit one
Any time the light comes apart, for a bulb change, a lens change or an inspection, put a new gasket in before it goes back together. It costs a fraction of the fixture it protects.
