Product details

The Pentair 79108500 is the replacement lens gasket for a 4 in. diameter light lens. It is the flat seal that sits between the lens and the fixture, and it is the part that keeps pool water out of the lamp compartment.

Why it gets replaced

A lens gasket is compressed the moment the lens is clamped down, and it holds that shape from then on. Once the light has been opened, the old gasket no longer matches the surfaces it used to seal against. That is why a light that was watertight for years floods a week after a lamp change: the lamp was fine, the gasket was reused.
