Product details

This is a PoolTux King solid winter cover for a 21'x43' oval above ground pool, part number 122648ASBL. The cover measures 25'x47', which gives 4 ft of overlap around the pool.

The material

It is 8 mil silver on black triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams. Silver faces up to reflect sun and heat, black faces down to block the light that algae needs. The seams are heat sealed rather than stitched, which is where a cheaper cover usually lets go first.

Edges and anchoring

A sewn in polypropylene cord reinforces the edge, and aluminum grommets are spaced every three feet along it. The kit includes a deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable, so you have what you need to draw the cover tight around the pool without buying hardware separately.

Solid cover care

A solid cover holds rain and melt water on top rather than passing it through. Plan on a cover pump or another way to clear standing water through the winter, since the weight of a full cover is what pulls grommets and seams apart.
