Product details

AquaChek Spa 6-in-1 test strips give a complete read on spa and hot tub water from a single dip. One strip covers total hardness, total chlorine, total bromine, free chlorine, pH and total alkalinity.

Why six readings matter

Sanitizer alone does not tell you whether the water is healthy. pH decides how effective that sanitizer is, total alkalinity keeps pH from swinging, and hardness decides whether the water will scale or go after the equipment. Reading all six together is what turns a guess into a decision.

Free versus total chlorine

The strip separates free chlorine from total chlorine. Free chlorine is what remains available to sanitize. Total chlorine includes what has already combined with contaminants. When the two readings pull apart, the water is carrying spent sanitizer and needs shocking.

Built for spas

These were developed specifically for spa water, where small volumes and high bather loads move the chemistry fast. Testing before a soak takes seconds and catches problems before anyone gets in.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What exactly does it test?
Total hardness, total chlorine, total bromine, free chlorine, pH and total alkalinity.
Does it work for a bromine spa?
Yes. The strip reads total bromine as well as free and total chlorine, so it covers either sanitizer.
Why does it read both free and total chlorine?
Free chlorine is what is left to sanitize. Total chlorine includes what has already been used up. A gap between the two tells you the water needs shocking.
Can I use these in a pool?
They are developed specifically for spa and hot tub water. AquaChek makes separate strips for pool water.
