These are the AquaChek TruTest replacement test strips, part 512082, supplied 50 to a pack. Each strip reads free chlorine or bromine, pH and total alkalinity.
How they are used
The strips are made for the AquaChek TruTest digital test strip reader. You dip a strip, put it in the reader and get numbers on a screen instead of holding a wet strip up against a printed color chart in changing light. That matters most at the ends of the scale, where two printed blocks look almost the same but the water chemistry behind them does not.
What the three results tell you
Sanitizer level says whether the pool is protected right now. pH decides whether that sanitizer works properly and whether the water is comfortable. Total alkalinity is what keeps pH from wandering. Reading all three together is what turns a test into a decision about what to add.
