Product details

The Aquatic Access IGAT-180 is a 400 lb ADA pool lift that runs on water pressure and turns the seat 180 degrees automatically, sold with its deck socket and set up as a removable lift in a fixed anchor.

What it is

Aquatic Access has built water powered lifts since 1980, and the IGAT-180 is its standard in-ground automatic turn model. Its design is certified to the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design, along with the ADA and ABA requirements. The user operates it alone, from the deck or the water, and the seat height adjusts to suit different wheelchair heights.

Power and operation

There is no battery, charger or wiring. The lift needs 55 to 65 psi of open flow water pressure to raise 400 lb, and it travels 44 in. vertically. The seat turns 180 degrees clockwise by itself, forward on the way into the water and backward on the way out. The footrest flips up and its mounting arm sits under the seat, so a side transfer is unobstructed. The seat comes with a single right arm, and a flip-up outer arm can be added.

Fit

The deck socket measures 2.375 in. OD by 7 in. and the pool needs a straight wall at least 36 in. deep. There is no underwater installation, but the bottom of the cylinder touches the wall, so a vinyl liner wall pad is available for liner pools. The lifting apparatus comes out of the socket for off season storage and can be padlocked in the deck position. It can also be set up to use deck sockets from other brands of lift.

Included

The seat belt, flip-up footrest and installation components ship with the lift. A heavy duty version with a higher capacity is a custom build.

The deck socket is included with this part number, so no separate anchor purchase is needed.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Does the IGAT-180 run on a battery?
No. It is powered by water pressure and needs 55 to 65 psi of open flow pressure to lift its full 400 lb. Static pressure at a faucet reads higher than the pressure while lifting, so the running figure is the one that counts.
Can a person use it without help?
Yes. The lift is user operable for independent use. The seat turns automatically 180 degrees, and the footrest flips up so a side to side transfer is unobstructed.
What wall and deck does it need?
The deck socket is 2.375 in. OD by 7 in., and the lift needs a straight pool wall at least 36 in. deep. The cylinder rests against the pool wall, and a vinyl liner wall pad is available for liner pools.
Does it come with everything needed to install it?
The listing says every component needed for installation and operation ships with the lift, including the seat belt and the flip-up footrest. A flip-up outer armrest is an optional addition.
