Why the prop is a wear part
The propeller is what pulls water and debris through the vacuum, and it takes the abuse: gravel, acorns and pebbles chip blades, and a hard strike shears the prop pins that drive it. A prop with a damaged blade turns without moving much water, so suction falls off long before the machine sounds wrong.
