Product details

The Hammerhead Remora is the battery powered version of the Hammer-Head vacuum that pool technicians have carried for years. Instead of a cord back to an outlet, the head is powered by a wearable, rechargeable lithium battery pack, and the motor assembly and cord are lighter and more compact than the original. The XR1600 is the complete kit: everything needed to vacuum a pool is in the one box.

Run time and battery

A full charge gives about 50 minutes at full speed or 75 minutes at low speed, with a recharge taking around 6 hours. The battery is rated for roughly 2000 duty cycles, about five years of daily use. Charge it only with the supplied XR1606 charger; that charger is for Remora packs only and should not be used on Hammer-Head Service or Resort units, and a non-approved battery in the power pack voids the warranty.

What is in the box

The XR1601 vacuum head with motor and cord, the XR1602 power pack, the XR1603 lithium battery, the XR1604 motor and cord with plug end, the XR1605 carry handle (which fits all Hammer-Head heads), the XR1606 charger and an HH1508 superfine debris bag. The head weighs 13 lb with its cord, the battery pack 5 lb, and the whole package 18 lb. Minimum operating depth is 12 in.

How long does it run on a charge?
About 50 minutes at full speed or about 75 minutes at low speed. Results vary with how much debris the bag is holding. A full recharge takes around 6 hours.
How long will the battery last?
Hammerhead rates it at approximately 2000 duty cycles, which is about 5 years at one cycle per day. Charge it only with the XR1606 charger that comes in the kit; using another charger, or a non-approved battery in the power pack, voids the Remora warranty.
Can I use the Remora charger on my older Hammer-Head Service or Resort unit?
No. The XR1606 charger is for Remora battery packs only.
How shallow can it work?
The minimum operating depth is 12 inches, so it covers steps and tanning ledges as well as the deep end.
