Product details

The Polaris 9-100-1132 is the genuine drive train gear kit for the Polaris 360 and 380 automatic pool cleaners. It includes the drive train gears and the turbine bearing.

How the drive train works

Water pressure spins the turbine inside the cleaner. That rotation passes through the drive train gears to the wheels, and the wheels carry the cleaner across the floor and up the walls. The gears are the link between the turbine and any actual movement.

The symptom this fixes

A cleaner that stalls, wanders or sits still while the turbine is clearly running has usually stripped its gears. Grit works its way into the housing over the seasons and the teeth wear down until they no longer bite.

While you are in there

The belts and wheel bearings on a 360 or 380 wear on much the same timeline as the gears. If the cleaner is several seasons old, look them over during the same teardown so you only take the cleaner apart once.

Which cleaners does this fit?

Is the turbine bearing included?
Yes. Polaris supplies the drive train gears and the turbine bearing together in kit 9-100-1132.
My cleaner runs but does not drive. Is this the fix?
It is the usual one. If water is flowing and the turbine is turning but the wheels do not move, worn or stripped drive train gears are the first place to look.
Do I need anything else?
Belts and wheel bearings wear on the same schedule. If the cleaner has several seasons on it, check them while the housing is open.
