The J&J Electronics ColorSplash VU RGB-W is a nicheless LED light for pools and spas, model LPL-R2CW-12-150, drawing 20W at 12V with a 150 ft. cord.
Nicheless installation
The fixture threads into a standard 1.5 in. female return fitting and mounts flush with the surface. J&J states that no niche and no bonding are required, which is what makes this style of light usable in places a conventional fixture cannot go: steps, swim outs, spillovers, the floor of a shallow end, or a spa wall.
RGB-W color
The RGB-W version carries a dedicated white alongside the color channels. That gives you a clean white for ordinary evening swimming, and full color and light shows when you want them, without the washed out white that comes from mixing color channels together.
Power and cord
This is a 12V fixture fed from a low voltage transformer. The 150 ft. cord covers long runs back to the pad, so plan the route and the transformer position before you set the light.
