Product details

The Hayward W3SP0583L100 is the AstroLite Series underwater pool light in its 500 watt, 120 volt configuration with a 100 ft cord and a plastic trim ring. It is a complete light fixture for in-ground pools.

Face rim and construction

This version uses the injection molded, patterned face rim made of rugged, noncorrosive glass filled polypropylene, so there is no metal rim to pit or discolor in pool water. The E-Z lock clamp and reflector make relamping faster and easier when the bulb eventually needs changing.

Choosing the right one

AstroLite fixtures are offered in 12 volt and 120 volt models, a range of wattages and several cord lengths, plus a smooth machine polished stainless steel rim option. Match the voltage to your transformer or circuit and choose a cord long enough to reach the junction box in one run.

What voltage and wattage is this light?
It is the 500 watt, 120 volt AstroLite. Hayward also makes 12 volt versions and other wattages in the same series if your installation calls for something different.
How long is the cord?
100 feet. Pick the cord length that reaches your junction box without a splice; the cord is not meant to be extended underwater.
Is the trim ring metal?
No. This version has the injection molded plastic face rim in glass filled polypropylene, which will not corrode. Hayward offers the same fixture with a machine polished stainless steel rim if you prefer that look.
How hard is it to change the bulb?
The E-Z lock clamp and reflector are designed to make relamping quicker and simpler than on older fixtures.
