Product details

The Taylor K-1106 is a phosphate test kit that reads from 0 to 1000 PPB, parts per billion. It is made by Taylor Technologies, whose kits are the standard reference for pool water testing.

Why phosphate matters

Phosphate is a nutrient. It does not make water cloudy on its own, but algae feed on it, and a pool carrying a high phosphate level will keep pushing back against sanitizer. That is the pool that goes green again a week after it was cleared. Testing turns that into a number you can act on.

Using the reading

Test first, so you know whether a phosphate remover is needed and roughly how much work it has to do. Test again after the treatment has had time to act and you can confirm the level has actually dropped. When the reagents run low, Taylor sells them separately so the kit keeps working.
