Product details
The Taylor K-1004-12 Trouble-Shooter is a DPD test kit for residential pools and spas. It covers free and total chlorine, bromine, pH, acid demand and total alkalinity.
What the numbers cover
Chlorine reads from 0.5 to 5 ppm as both free and total, so you can see how much sanitizer is still available and how much has already combined. Bromine runs 1 to 10 ppm. pH reads 6.8 to 8.2, the range a pool is actually kept in, and the acid demand test turns a high pH reading into an actual dose.
Why DPD
DPD separates free chlorine from total chlorine. That difference is what tells you whether the water needs more sanitizer or needs shocking, and it is the reason service techs carry a DPD kit rather than strips alone.
Where it stops
This is the Trouble-Shooter, not a full service kit. It does not include cyanuric acid or calcium hardness. If you need those, look at the larger Taylor kits.
