Why four tests

Chlorine and pH are the two readings most owners take, but on their own they tell you what is wrong without telling you what to do about it. Acid demand converts a high pH into an actual dose of acid. Total alkalinity is the buffer sitting behind pH, and if it is out of range, pH will drift back no matter how many times you correct it. Reading all four is what turns testing into a decision.

Reagents rather than strips

This is a liquid reagent kit. It takes a little longer than dipping a strip, and it gives readings you can compare from week to week. Keep the reagents out of the sun and replace them when they age, since old reagent is the usual reason a kit starts disagreeing with the dealer test.
