Taylor R-0012-E is the hardness reagent supplied in a 16 ounce bottle. It is the bulk refill size, meant for a kit that is already in service.

Why the pint size

Taylor packages the same reagents in small dropper bottles and in pints. The pint costs far less per test, which matters if you are testing a service route, a commercial pool, or several bodies of water every week. For a single backyard pool tested a few times a season, the smaller bottle is usually the better buy simply because the reagent will be used up before it ages out.

Keeping results honest

Test reagents do not last forever. They drift with age, heat and light, and a drifted reagent will happily give you a confident looking number that is wrong. Store reagents cool and out of the sun, and replace them on a schedule rather than when the bottle runs dry.

What size is this bottle?
16 ounces. Taylor sells the same reagent in smaller dropper bottles for occasional use.

No. This is a reagent refill for a Taylor kit you already have.
