This is the Century terminal board for UST and USQ series motors, part number 626531. It is the board inside the motor end cover where the supply leads and the motor leads land.

When it needs replacing

Terminal boards fail from heat. A connection that was never quite tight arcs under load, the arcing chars the board, and once the plastic is burned or a terminal is damaged there is no cleaning it up. Replacing the board is a fraction of the cost of the motor when it is the only thing that has failed.

Kill power at the breaker before opening the end cover, and verify the terminals are dead before working on them.

Why would a terminal board need replacing?
A loose connection arcs, and arcing burns the board. Once the board is charred or a terminal is damaged, it cannot be repaired and the motor will not make a reliable connection.
Do I need to disconnect power first?
Yes. Kill power at the breaker before opening the motor end cover, and confirm it is dead at the terminals before touching anything.
