Century 1 HP Square Flange Pool Pump Motor, 1 Phase, 60 Hz, 230/115 V, 3450 RPM, 56Y Frame

The Century B2853V1 is a single speed 1 HP square flange pool pump motor, dual voltage at 230 or 115 V, turning 3450 rpm on the P56Y frame with a threaded shaft. It is the current replacement for the A.O. Smith B283 and B2853, and it fits the pumps those motors came on.

Where it goes

Jandy PlusHP PHPM and PHPF pumps from 2006 onward, Jandy Stealth SHPF and SHPM from 2008 onward, Pentair Challenger, WhisperFlo and SuperFlo, and the Sta-Rite Super Max. Match the square flange, the 56Y frame and the threaded shaft to the motor coming off.

Nameplate and construction

1.0 HP, 0.75 kW, 1.25 service factor, 6.5 A at 230 V and 13.0 A at 115 V under service factor load. It is a switchless permanent split capacitor motor started across the line, with sealed ball bearings at both ends, a stainless steel shaft (0.625 in. diameter, 1/2 in. thread, 0.910 in. extension) and a rolled steel drip proof frame. Thermally protected, Class F insulation, continuous duty at 50 C ambient, UL recognized and CSA certified. Overall length is 12.44 in. with an 8.00 in. frame, counterclockwise rotation from the pump end.

This motor is not California Title 20 compliant and cannot be sold or installed in California. Century's V-Green EVO variable speed motors (EVC130, EVC165, EVC225, EVQ130, EVQ165, EVQ225) are the CEC compliant alternatives.
