The Century B2858 is a full rated 1.5 HP pool pump motor, dual voltage at 230/115 V, single speed at 3450 rpm with a 1.5 service factor. It carried the part number B858 before it became B2858, so an old motor tag with the shorter number leads to this one.
What it goes on
Century lists it for use with the Pentair Challenger, the WhisperFlo WF-6 and the Pinnacle. Check the frame and shaft against the motor you are removing before ordering: it is a Y56Y frame with a 1/2" threaded shaft, 0.625" in diameter with a 0.91" extension, and 14.40" overall.
Construction
It is a permanent split capacitor design, switchless, with sealed ball bearings and a stainless steel shaft. The enclosure is open dripproof, insulation class F, rated for continuous duty at a 50 C ambient, to a UL 1081 design.
As with any motor swap, plan to change the pump shaft seal at the same time. The seal has to be disturbed to get the motor out, and reused seals tend to weep.
