Century Full-Rated Two-Speed Motor, 1.5 HP 1.47 SF 230V (B2983)

The Century B2983 is a full rated two speed pool pump motor: 1.5 HP with a 1.47 service factor on high, running 3450 rpm on high and 1725 rpm on low from a 230V single phase 60 Hz supply. It is listed as a replacement motor for the Hayward TriStar SP3200 and SP3200EE and for Pentair SuperFlo pumps.

Two speeds, one motor

Low speed runs everyday filtration at 1.6 A while high speed delivers 10.0 A worth of flow for vacuuming, spa jets or backwashing. Both windings are energy efficient. Electrically it is PSC on low speed and capacitor start, capacitor run on high, with two and four pole operation.

Construction

Open drip proof rolled steel frame in the Y56Y size, sealed ball bearings at both ends, class F insulation with thermal protection and a 50 C ambient rating for continuous duty. The 1/2 in. threaded shaft is 303 stainless steel, 0.625 in. in diameter with a 0.91 in. extension. Overall length is 13.90 in. with a 9.50 in. frame. Rotation is counterclockwise viewed from the pump end. UL recognized and CSA listed.

This motor does not meet California Title 20 and cannot be sold, shipped or installed in California. Century offers six CEC compliant V-Green EVO models, EVC130, EVC165, EVC225, EVQ130, EVQ165 and EVQ225, for pools in that state.
