The Century B2975 is a 1 HP two speed full rate replacement pool pump motor on a Y56J C-face frame, wired for 230 volts at 60 Hz. It turns 3450 rpm on high and 1725 rpm on low.
Why two speed
Most of a pool day does not need full speed. A two speed motor lets filtration run on low, where the motor draws a fraction of the current, and step up to high for vacuuming, heating or backwashing. The design here is permanent split capacitor, switchless on high speed with a microswitch on low, built to UL 1081.
Build and mounting
Sealed ball bearings at both ends, a drip proof enclosure, thermal protection, a rolled steel frame and a 303 stainless steel shaft, threaded at 7/16 inch so the impeller screws straight on. Overall length is 13.05 inches with a 7.75 inch frame, and mounting is round.
