Century 1-1/2 HP 3450 RPM 56Y Frame Square Flange Pool Pump Motor, 115/230V, B2854V1

The Century B2854V1 is a single speed 1-1/2 HP, 3450 RPM pool pump motor in the 56Y square flange frame, wired for 115 or 230 volts. It is the motor used on the Pentair WhisperFlo, Challenger and Pinnacle pumps and on the Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro, and it replaces the older Century stock numbers B854 and B2854V.

Nameplate

1.5 HP output (1.1 kW), 1.1 service factor, 16.0/8.0 A at 115/230 V, 60 Hz, single phase, continuous duty. The enclosure is drip proof, the motor is thermally protected with Class F insulation, and it is UL Recognized and CSA certified. Electrically it is a permanent split capacitor design with across the line starting, two poles, counterclockwise rotation at the pump end and ball bearings at both ends.

Dimensions

Overall length 12.95 in., frame length 8.50 in. The shaft is 1/2 threaded, 0.625 in. in diameter with a 0.91 in. extension, on a rolled steel frame. A new shaft seal is normal practice when changing a motor; the seal and gasket kits for WhisperFlo and Challenger are listed with the related parts.

This motor is not California Title 20 compliant and cannot be shipped to California. Century builds six CEC compliant replacements in the V-Green EVO line, EVC130, EVC165, EVC225, EVQ130, EVQ165 and EVQ225, which also cut running cost through variable speed operation.
