Product details

The TEQ225 is a U.S. MOTORS Aqua-Shield Pro pool and spa pump motor supplied by Nidec Motor Corporation. It is a 48Y frame, totally enclosed fan cooled square flange motor rated 2.25 THP on 115/208-230V.

Why square flange

Square flange is the most common pump motor frame in service. The flange bolts directly to the pump housing, so there is no adapter and no bracket between the two, and swapping a failed motor is a matter of matching frame, horsepower and voltage rather than re-engineering the plumbing.

Before you order

Read the nameplate on the motor you are pulling off. Frame, total horsepower and supply voltage all have to line up, and a 48Y motor will not stand in for a 56Y. Wiring, bonding and disconnect work on a pump motor is electrical work, so have a qualified person handle it if you are not certain.

48Y. Square flange frames like this one attach directly to the pump, which is why they are the most common pool pump motor frame in use.
