Product details

The Century SQS1102R is a two speed, square flange replacement pool pump motor, full rated at 1 HP on high speed and 0.17 HP on low, turning 3450 and 1725 RPM. It runs on 230 volt and uses a 48Y frame with a threaded shaft.

Why two speed

Most of a pool day does not need full flow. Low speed turns the water over quietly at a fraction of the draw, and high speed is there for vacuuming, backwashing and heating. Swapping a single speed motor for a two speed one is the cheapest way to cut a filtration bill without replumbing anything.

Check before you order

Three things decide whether this motor drops in: the square flange mounting face, the 48Y frame, and the threaded shaft that your impeller has to thread onto. Confirm all three against the motor you are pulling out, along with a 230 volt supply.
