Three phase, not household power

This is a commercial motor. Three phase service is what you find at a hotel, a club, a municipal pool or a light industrial site, not at a typical residence. Before ordering, confirm what is actually feeding the pad. A three phase motor cannot be made to run on single phase power by rewiring it.

Full rated versus up rated

Full rated means the 2HP on the nameplate is the honest horsepower before the service factor is counted. Multiply by the 1.30 service factor and you get the 2.6 THP figure. That distinction matters when you are matching a replacement to an existing pump, because an up rated motor of the same total horsepower carries a lower nameplate rating.

Fitting it

The square flange 56Y frame is the standard pool pump mount, and it bolts to a large share of wet ends without adapters. Check the flange style and the shaft on the motor you are replacing. Round flange and C face motors share the 56Y frame designation but do not interchange with a square flange.

Is this a single phase motor?
No. It is three phase, wired for 208, 230 or 460 volts. A single phase pool circuit will not run it, so confirm the service at the pad before ordering.
What does full rated mean?
The nameplate horsepower is the real horsepower before service factor. With a 1.30 service factor the motor carries 2.6 total horsepower, which is how up rated motors are usually described.
