Century VGreen Evo Variable Speed 1.65 THP Square Flange Pool Pump Motor, 230/115 V, 48Y Frame

The Century VGreen Evo EVQ165 is a 1.65 total horsepower variable speed motor in a 48Y square flange frame, made to bolt onto an existing pump in place of its single or two speed motor. Nothing else changes: the wet end stays, the plumbing stays, and the motor carries its own controller and user interface, so there is no drive box to mount or wire.

Why variable speed

A single speed motor runs flat out whenever it runs, moving more water than the pool needs and paying for it in electricity. A variable speed motor turns over the same water at a lower rpm for longer, which uses a fraction of the power, runs noticeably quieter and keeps the motor cooler, which in turn extends its life. Federal DOE rules and California Title 20 now require this class of motor on most replacements, and the EVQ165 is compliant with both.

Programming

A single button on the motor steps through pre programmed schedules across the 600 to 3450 rpm range. Voltage is detected automatically on 230 or 115 V, and freeze protection is built in. If the pad has automation, the motor works with Pentair EasyTouch, IntelliTouch and IntelliConnect, Hayward OmniLogic, ProLogic, OmniPL and EcoStar, and Jandy iQPump 1.0, AquaLink TCX, iAquaLink 3.1 and AquaLink RS.

Fit

Square flange, 48Y frame, threaded 0.625 in. shaft with a 1/2-20 thread, TEFC enclosure. It replaces the motor on Pentair WhisperFlo, Max-E-Pro, SuperFlo and SuperMax, Hayward Super Pump and MaxFlo, and Jandy FloPro and PlusHP pumps. A C face version and 1.30 and 2.25 THP ratings are available in the same family. Replace the shaft seal at the same time.
