Century 1 HP Pump Motor, 230/115 Volt, 3450 RPM, Round Flange, 56J Frame, ODP

The Century UST1102, also sold under the A.O. Smith name, is a 1 HP up rated replacement motor for the Hayward Super Pump, Super II and Max-Flo II. It is a 56J round flange motor with a 7/16 in. threaded shaft, wired for 230 or 115 volts at 3450 rpm.

Nameplate

1 HP output with a 1.10 service factor, 7.5 A at 230 V or 15.0 A at 115 V, single phase, 60 Hz, single speed. The enclosure is open drip proof with automatic thermal protection, a 50 C ambient rating and class B insulation. Starting is capacitor start, capacitor run, across the line, with a sealed switch design. Rotation is counterclockwise from the pump end.

Build

The shaft is 303 stainless steel, 0.625 in. in diameter with a 2.56 in. extension and a 304 bearing at the shaft end. Ball bearings at both ends, a rolled steel frame, 13.53 in. overall and 7.75 in. frame length. A new shaft seal is standard practice when swapping the motor; the Super Pump seal kit and Super II rebuild kit are listed separately.

California

The UST1102 is not California Title 20 compliant and cannot be shipped to California. Century's CEC compliant pool motors are the V-Green EVO variable speed models EVC130, EVC165, EVC225, EVQ130, EVQ165 and EVQ225.
