Product details

The Century B2852 is an up rated single speed pool pump motor, 3/4 HP at 3450 rpm on a P56Y frame with a threaded shaft. It runs on 230 or 115 volts, single phase, with a 1.25 service factor.

Nameplate

Output 3/4 Hp, 0.56 kW. Speed 3450 rpm, one speed. Service factor 1.25, drawing 5.4 amps at 230 V or 10.8 amps at 115 V. Open dripproof enclosure, thermally protected, continuous duty, Class F insulation, rated to a 50 C ambient. UL recognized and CSA listed.

Construction

A permanent split capacitor design with two poles and no centrifugal start switch, so there is one less wearing part on the shaft. Sealed ball bearings at the drive end and the opposite drive end. Rolled steel frame, 8.00 in. long, 12.40 in. overall. The shaft is 0.625 in. diameter with a 1/2 thread and a 0.91 in. extension, and rotation is counterclockwise viewed from the pump end.

Fitting

Century lists this motor for use with the Pentair Challenger, SuperFlo, WhisperFlo and Pinnacle. Frame, flange and shaft all have to match the motor you are taking off, so read the old nameplate before ordering rather than working from horsepower alone.

Which pumps is this motor used with?

What does up rated mean?
It means the horsepower on the label is the rated output before the service factor is applied. This one is 3/4 HP with a 1.25 service factor, so it delivers more than 3/4 HP under load.
Will it bolt onto my pump?
It is a P56Y frame with round mounting and a 1/2 in. threaded shaft, the common pool pump pattern. Check the frame and shaft on the motor you are removing before you order.
