Polaris PB4-60 Booster Pump Replacement Motor P61, Century B625 Compatible

The Polaris P61 is the replacement motor for the PB4-60 booster pump that drives Polaris pressure side cleaners. It is the same motor Century (formerly A.O. Smith) sells as catalog number B625, part number 7-173840-23, so whichever number is on your old motor, this is the match.

Electrical

Label horsepower is 3/4 with a 1.5 service factor, for an effective 1.125 HP. The motor runs on 115 or 230 volts single phase and draws 6.4 or 12.8 amps depending on the voltage selected. The start capacitor, rated 124 to 149 uF at 110 VAC, is mounted on top of the motor rather than buried inside it, which makes a future capacitor swap a five minute job.

Mechanical

It is a 56CZ frame with a threaded shaft, so the booster pump impeller spins directly onto it. The body is 10 in. long excluding the shaft and 6-1/2 in. in diameter, and the shaft extends 3-3/4 in. It appears in both the standard and new style PB4-60 parts diagrams.

Before you order

The shaft seal is not included. Replace it whenever the motor comes off, and check the impeller and seal plate for wear while the wet end is open.
