Product details

The Jandy R0445500 is the OEM mechanical shaft seal with a 13/16 in. inside diameter on the ceramic. It fits the older Jandy Stealth SHPF and SHPM pumps, those with a serial number before P08FF0001, and the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump with a serial number after PB120111001 or starting at AVEH050100. It also appears in the Jandy PlusHP parts breakdown.

Why the inside diameter matters

The Stealth impeller was originally made with a different shaft. Impeller revisions N and lower have a double stepped shaft and need a seal with a 13/16 in. ID on the ceramic. Revisions P and higher have no step where the impeller sits on the motor shaft and need a 5/8 in. ID seal, which is part R0479400. Fit the wrong one and the seal will not seat.

One seal, not two

This kit used to include both seals. Since mid 2012 it ships with only the 13/16 in. seal, part A0580500. The product photo still shows both for reference, but only one seal is in the box. If you need the 5/8 in. seal, order R0479400.

The picture shows two seals. Do I get both?
No. The R0445500 originally shipped with both the 13/16 in. and 5/8 in. seals, but since mid 2012 only the 13/16 in. seal, A0580500, is included. The photo is for illustration.
How do I know whether I need 13/16 in. or 5/8 in.?
Look at the impeller shaft. Stealth impeller revisions N and lower have a double stepped shaft and take this 13/16 in. seal. Revisions P and higher have no step where the impeller meets the motor shaft and take the 5/8 in. seal, R0479400. By serial number, Stealth pumps before P08FF0001 use this seal.
Does it fit the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump?
Yes, on PB4-60 pumps with a serial number after PB120111001 or starting at AVEH050100.
Is this a genuine Jandy part?
Yes. It is the OEM Jandy and Polaris shaft seal, not a generic equivalent.
