Product details

The Jandy R0448900 is the pump debris trap basket for Jandy Pro Series PlusHP (PHPF and PHPM), WaterFeature (WFTR) and MaxHP (MHPM) pumps. Jandy's replacement kit instructions state that it suits both newer and older models of these pumps.

What it does

The basket sits in the pump housing and catches leaves and debris before they reach the impeller. Jandy's instructions have you lift the old basket out, remove all debris from the pump, and set the new basket in place.

Installing it

Turn off the pump and its circuit breaker, close the isolation valves, and turn the lid's locking ring counter-clockwise until the start marking lines up with the ports. The slot in the basket must line up with the positioning tab inside the pump body. Jandy warns that a misaligned basket seats the lid improperly, which lets in air and can damage the pump.

Fit and related parts

This listing is the basket only. Jandy lists the lid with locking ring and seal as R0448800, and the lid seal and lid O-ring kit as R0449100. Newer lids use a lid seal and older lids use an O-ring, depending on where the lid part number is molded. Check your pump model against the PHPF, PHPM, WFTR and MHPM series before you order.
