What is in the kit
Two union nuts with their tailpiece O-rings. That covers both the suction and the discharge side of the pump, so the whole pair is renewed rather than half of it.
Why unions fail
Union nuts take the load every time the pump is disconnected for service, and they sit in sun and pool chemistry the rest of the time. They craze, crack and eventually split under the tightening torque. The O-ring behind the tailpiece hardens on a slower schedule but ends up weeping in the same way. Either one shows as a persistent drip at the pipe joint that no amount of retightening cures.
