Why the kit and not just the impeller
Getting to the impeller means opening the pump, which means disturbing the backplate O-ring. That seal is included here, so the pump goes back together sealed rather than being reassembled on a flattened O-ring that leaks air and loses prime a week later. The impeller screw is in the box for the same reason.
