The Jandy R0446101 is the genuine 2 inch by 2-1/2 inch pump union tail piece for the Stealth and ePump ranges.
What it fits
Jandy lists it for the Stealth SHPF and SHPM pumps in 3/4 through 2-1/2 horsepower, and for the ePump JEP variable speed pumps. It is the piece that joins the pump port to the plumbing and lets the pump come out without cutting pipe.
When to replace it
Unions weep for two reasons: a tired o-ring, or a tail piece that has cracked or distorted from overtightening and heat. If a fresh o-ring does not stop the drip, the tail piece itself has gone and needs changing.
Order the seal with it
The o-ring for the tail piece is a separate Jandy part and is not listed as included here. Since the plumbing is already apart when you fit a new tail piece, it is worth having the o-ring on hand rather than making a second trip.
