Polaris Genuine Replacement PB4-60 Booster Pump Impeller

The impeller is the part of a Polaris PB4-60 booster pump that actually builds the pressure your pressure side cleaner runs on. When it wears or chips, the motor still hums along but the cleaner slows down and stops climbing. This is the genuine Polaris R0536400 impeller for the new style PB4-60, the version built from 2011 to current with serial numbers PB120111001 and later. It measures 5-7/8 in. across and 5/16 in. thick.

New style or old style?

Polaris changed the PB4-60 in 2011 and the two impellers do not interchange. The quickest check is the housing cover that sits over the impeller: on the new style the ridges radiating from the center hole are curved, on the old style they are straight. Curved ridges mean this R0536400 is the right part. Straight ridges mean you need the P15 impeller for the old style pump.

While the pump is apart

Getting to the impeller means pulling the front housing, so it is a good time to look at the mechanical shaft seal and the housing o-ring and replace them if they show any wear. Doing it all in one go saves opening the pump twice.
