Product details

The Polaris P133 is the Softube quick connect adapter fitting, supplied here as a four pack. It is the fitting that joins the Softube hose to the booster pump plumbing.

How it fits

One end is 3/4 inch threaded and screws into the pump housing. The other end is barbed and carries a snap lock, so the Softube hose pushes on and locks without a clamp. It is molded plastic, the same as the original fitting, and it is listed under the Polaris PB4-60 and PB4-60Q booster pump parts.

Why they fail

The barb is the piece that takes the strain each time the hose is pulled, coiled or dragged over a coping edge. Once it cracks, the fitting weeps and the cleaner starts running slow or stalling, because pressure that should be reaching it is escaping at the pump. A cracked snap lock does the same thing by letting the hose creep off.

Buying the four pack means the whole run can be refitted in one go rather than chasing one leak at a time.
