The Century EVC130 is a 1.30 THP VGreen Evo variable speed motor with a 56J C face flange, wired for 230 or 115 volts. It is sold as a motor on its own, so an older single speed or two speed pump can be converted to variable speed without replacing the pump.
Why variable speed
A single speed motor runs at full rpm every hour it is on, which moves far more water than a pool needs and burns the energy to do it. Dropping the speed lets the pump hit the same daily turnover over a longer, slower run, and the power draw falls sharply with it. The side effects are worth having on their own: a motor at low rpm is much quieter and runs cooler, which is easier on the bearings and the windings.
Setting it up
Speed schedules are programmed on the motor through a single button interface, using pre set operating schedules. Nothing else has to be wired in, and there is no separate controller to mount at the pad.
Before you order
Confirm the frame and flange on the motor you are replacing. This is the 56J round C face version. The same VGreen Evo motor is built in a square flange pattern and in 1.65 and 2.25 THP outputs, so the flange and the horsepower both need to match what the pump was built for.
