Century Threaded Shaft 2 HP 2 Speed 230V Full Rate Motor B2979

The Century B2979 is a two speed, 2 HP full rate replacement motor with a 56J round flange and a threaded shaft. It runs on 230V single phase and drops in on the two speed versions of the Hayward Super Pump, Super II SP3000 series, Northstar and Max Flow, the Jacuzzi Magnum, and Jandy HHP and HHPU pumps. It crosses to Hayward motor SP-1620-Z2-MC.

Two speeds

High speed is 3450 rpm and low speed is 1725 rpm. High speed is switchless, and low speed is selected through a microswitch on the motor. Nameplate current is 10.0 A on high and 2.1 A on low at a 1.2 service factor.

Construction

Sealed ball bearings at both ends, a rolled steel frame, drip proof enclosure, class F insulation and thermal protection. The shaft is 7/16 in. threaded 303 stainless steel, 0.625 in. in diameter with a 2.604 in. extension. Overall length is 13.55 in. and the frame is 8.25 in. long. The motor is UL recognized and CSA listed.
