Product details

The SuperPro 11914 is a start capacitor rated 161/192 MFD at 125V. It is cross referenced to the A.O. Smith motor capacitor 610807-002 used on pool pump motors.

What a start capacitor does

A single phase motor cannot start on its own. The start capacitor gives the extra push that breaks the rotor away and brings it up to speed, then drops out of the circuit. When it weakens, the motor still has power but no longer has the torque to start, which is why a failing capacitor so often looks like a failed motor.

Before you fit it

Read the printing on the capacitor you are removing and match the MFD and the voltage. A motor family can be built with more than one rating, and our data for this part gives the range slightly differently in two places, as 161/192 MFD and as 161 to 193 MFD. Discharge the old capacitor before handling it.
