Up rated, and why it matters
Up rated and full rated motors of the same nominal horsepower are not interchangeable on paper. An up rated motor quotes the larger number with a 1.0 service factor, while a full rated motor of the same real output quotes a smaller number with a higher service factor. When you replace a motor, match the rating as well as the horsepower or the pump will move a different amount of water than it did before.
Frame and shaft
