Product details

This is a protective cover for a pool pump motor, listed by Pentair under part numbers R221016 and B8200C. It snaps onto the motor and stands between the motor and whatever the equipment pad throws at it.

What it protects against

Most equipment pads sit out in the open. Rain, sun and leaf litter all land on the motor, and a motor that stays wet corrodes at the terminals and the shaft end long before its bearings would have given out. A cover is the cheapest thing on the pad and it buys the most expensive part on it a longer life.

Fitment

The cover measures 13 in. long, 9 in. wide and 2 in. deep and will fit most standard single speed or dual speed motors. Motors with a controller mounted on top are the exception, since the controller occupies the space the cover needs. Whatever cover you use, leave the motor cooling vents clear; the motor pulls air through itself to stay cool while it runs.
