Product details

This is the Century motor switch assembly for BN23, BN24, BN25, BN35 and BN40 frame pool and spa motors. It is a genuine Century part, built to the original equipment specifications so it drops straight back into place.

What the switch does

A single phase pool motor uses a start circuit to get moving and then switches that circuit out once it is up to speed. The switch assembly is the part that makes and breaks that connection. When the contacts burn or the mechanism sticks, the motor either hums without starting or runs the start winding continuously, and neither ending is good for the motor.

Before you replace a motor

A no start motor is often written off when the switch is the only failed piece. If the shaft turns freely by hand and the motor hums when powered, the switch assembly is worth checking first. It costs a fraction of a replacement motor.

Part numbers

The source data carries this switch under both 1576815 and 15768150. Read the number off the switch you are removing and match it before you order.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which motors does this fit?
Century BN23, BN24, BN25, BN35 and BN40 frame pool and spa motors.
Is the part number 1576815 or 15768150?
Both numbers appear in the source data for this switch assembly. Check the number printed on the switch you are removing and match it before ordering.
Is it a genuine Century part?
Yes. It is a Century replacement built to the original equipment specifications for a direct fit.
My motor hums but will not start. Is this the part?
It is the first thing to check. The start switch is a common cause of a motor that hums, draws current and never comes up to speed, though a seized shaft or a failed capacitor can look the same, so confirm before ordering.
